About

I cannot think of a pastime more relaxing and de-stressing than gardening or arranging cut flowers.

Even as early as my teens I used to spend hours in our garden, designed by my mother, and admire the form, the color, and the smell of all the flowers.  In those early years filled with wonder I would cut open flowers to study and to satisfy my curiosity. That curiosity together with my love of nature was the reason I pursued a university degree in biology/botany.  At that time, little I knew that one day I would end up having my own flower business.
Later on, having studied and obtained two degrees one in flower arranging and the other in landscape design I opened my first flower shop, employed full-time staff, and ran a successful business for twenty-two years after which I retired so that to make my new dreams come true.

This blog, all about flowers and plants, is inspired by my years of knowledge, experience, as well as questions that I have received from lovers of floral arts over the years.  From my home in southern California where I spend hours in my garden, I am excited to share my expertise with visitors to my blog; hopefully here you can get useful information, ideas, and inspiration.

For centuries flowers have been inspirations for mystics, gardeners, poets, artists, patients, lovers, musicians ….  In these pages I wish to share with you the poetic beauty of flowers and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your visit, likes, shares, and comments.

What a lovely Easter arrangement! The combination of different sizes of flowers next to each other evoke a sense of all-life awakening in Spring. Love the use of Pearl plant instead of leaves as it introduces green colour discreetly. I can almost smell the arrangement!!
I love all your arrangements and look forward to the next one.
